Imes has developed a range of subsea instruments which enable remote control and diagnostics of subsea control systems and umbilicals.

Developed for BP, this deepwater technology has become a proven tool to enable testing of insulation resistance (IR) and continuity resistance (CR) in the West of Shetland.

The Imes systems can be mounted on various Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and are all remotely controlled from the surface where individual cores can be tested with all results being recorded in real time in front of the operator.

Recent developments have included expansion of the technology to include Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR).
