We offer clients an unbiased and professional service due to our company’s independence from any crane or lifting equipment manufacturer or supplier, this is demonstrated through our unique UKAS competency accreditation and backed up by extensive ISO certification, Lloyds Register, FPAL and LEEA association and accreditation.

Our LOLER lifting inspection services are being successfully delivered on many onshore and industrial facilities, merchant vessels, RFA vessels, RN vessels, offshore platforms as well as onboard construction, pipe-laying and dive support vessels for a range of clients, both in the UK and internationally.

We also have an in-house capability to load test, calibrate and destruct test wire ropes and other associated lifting gear, with our horizontal test machines varying from 30 tonne up to 800 tonne wire rope test bed.

We provide clients with the benefit of managing their LOLER compliant lifting equipment inspections and defect reports through an online industry leading certification and defect management system, ensuring complete confidence in what we do, compliance with associated legislation and paperless tracking of lifting equipment and reports.

IMES inspection capability extends to include Non Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques and rope access, which are a core requirement for today’s inspection market.  We have specialist skills in the following techniques:

* LOLER

The Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) are set of regulations created under the Health and Safety at Work Act which came into force in Great Britain on 5 November 1998 and replaced a number of other pieces of legislation which covered the use of lifting equipment.  The purpose of the LOLER regulations is to reduce the risk of injury from lifting equipment used at work. Areas covered in the LOLER regulations include the requirement for lifting equipment to be strong and stable enough for safe use and to be marked to indicate safe working loads; ensuring that any equipment is positioned and installed so as to minimise risks; that the equipment is used safely ensuring that work is planned, organised and performed by a competent person; that equipment is subject to ongoing thorough examination and where appropriate, inspection by competent people.
