LESMS for HMS Astute

Following the successful implementation of LESMS (Lifting Equipment Safety Management System) across the RN fleet of surface ships and submarines, Imes have been awarded a contract to implement the first of the new Astute Class submarine, now nearing its in-service date.
LESMS was developed for the RN as a Total Management package for all RN Lifting Equipment, using the Imes developed Smartcert © database. Similar databases have been developed subsequently for the RFA and a number of commercial shipping companies.
LESMS enables clients to gain control of lifting equipment by increasing regulatory compliance, enhancing safety and managing costs.
