Rolling Mill Load Cell The rollling mill high capacity load cell is designed for installing into the top of the rolling mill above the chock. A high-duty aluminium-bronze thrust bearing (cap) with a convex upper surface, is seated on top of the loadcell billet. The cap engages with the mill screw to transfer force to the load cell billet, while ensuring true axial alignment and minimizing torsional forces. The cap incorporates lubrication grooves that are connected to the mill lubrication system. For most applications, modifications to existing mills are confined to machining the appropriate slot in the upper surface of the chock and to machining a concave hemispherical radius into the screw to match the convex surface of the bearing cap.
